Softball Recap: Bellevue Takes a Loss

Bellevue managed to slip by Shelby the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Redmen came up short against the Whippets on Monday, falling 15-5. The Redmen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Whippets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

Payton Hicks made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Bellevue has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Shelby, they pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Bellevue wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-10 victory against Sandusky on the 7th. As for Shelby, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-5 defeat against Ontario on the 7th.
