Baseball Recap: Normal West Comes Up Short

If Normal West was riding high fresh off their 7-1 takedown of Bloomington on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats came up short against the Dunlap Eagles on Saturday, falling 8-1. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Normal West saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam McCully, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Normal West's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Dunlap, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Normal West will be playing at home against Champaign Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Dunlap, they will square off against Limestone at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Rockets will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
