Softball Game Preview: Peters Township Indians vs. Bethel Park Black Hawks

Peters Township is 1-9 against Bethel Park since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Indians will face off against the Black Hawks at 4:00 p.m. Neither Peters Township nor Bethel Park posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Peters Township's offense. They came up short against Baldwin on Thursday, falling 15-0. The Indians just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

Meanwhile, Bethel Park hadn't done well against Thomas Jefferson recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Black Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Jaguars. The two-run effort marked the Black Hawks' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Bethel Park pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 8.5 runs this season. As for Peters Township, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Peters Township might still be hurting after the 14-7 defeat they got from Bethel Park when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
