Basketball Recap: Michigan Lutheran Gets the Win + How To Watch

Michigan Lutheran won the last time they faced New Buffalo and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Titans snuck past the Bison with a 70-65 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.

Connor Olson was the offensive standout of the game as he went 5-for-8 en route to 19 points and eight rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in December of 2024. Jordan Duensing-Beck was another key player, putting up six points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.

Michigan Lutheran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. They pulled down eight more offensive boards than New Buffalo's also-impressive total of 16.

Defeat or not, New Buffalo got some senior leadership from Trevor James and Nick Haskins. James shot 59% from the field on his way to 27 points and seven boards, while Haskins put up 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Haskins is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least four every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Sam Tripp, who scored two points in addition to 15 boards, six assists, and five steals.

Michigan Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for New Buffalo, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Michigan Lutheran will be taking part in a tournament against Nebraska Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Buffalo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Howardsville Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
