Alameda is 4-0 against STEM School Highlands Ranch since January of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Alameda Pirates just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for Alameda and three for STEM School Highlands Ranch.

Alameda is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Fort Lupton on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Alameda was beaten by Fort Lupton 97-28. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 66-15.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 59-27, which was the final score in STEM School Highlands Ranch's tilt against Loveland Classical on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Lions are ranked 93rd).

STEM School Highlands Ranch's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-7. As for Alameda, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Alameda was able to grind out a solid victory over STEM School Highlands Ranch in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 59-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alameda since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
