Football Game Preview: Dillard Panthers vs. Deerfield Beach Bucks

The Dillard Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Deerfield Beach Bucks at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dillard has nine straight wins, Deerfield Beach has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

It was a proper cat-fight when Dillard faced off against Boynton Beach on Friday. The Panthers took their game with ease, bagging a 41-13 victory over the Tigers. Considering the Panthers have won seven matchups by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jayden Chico was his usual excellent self, throwing for 318 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 33 yards and one TD. Those 318 passing yards gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Deerfield Beach ended up a good deal behind Western on Friday and lost 20-6. While losing is never fun, the Bucks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 306th, while the Wildcats are ranked 150th).

Deerfield Beach's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Dillard, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.

Dillard took their victory against Deerfield Beach in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 39-13 score. In that contest, the Panthers amassed a halftime lead of 28-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
