No. 5 Grayson beats No. 19 Mill Creek 44-26 in Georgia playoff showdown

Grayson (Loganville), Georgia's top-ranked team all season, moved on to the 7A state finals Friday night by defeating No. 19 Mill Creek (Hoschton) 44-26.

According to the Gwinnett Daily Post, Chase Brice threw for 294 yards and four touchdowns, most of that in the first half when Grayson raced to a 38-14 lead.

This was the second meeting between the schools and the second win for Grayson (13-1), which was coming off a a 49-21 win at two-time defending state champion Colquitt County (Moultrie).

Grayson is the No. 5 team in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 national rankings presented by the Army National Guard.

Mill Creek (13-1), which opened its doors in 2004, has yet to win a state title. It was eliminated by Grayson in 2014 as well.



Grayson will meet No. 10 Roswell in the Georgia 7A state championship game.
