Baseball Game Preview: Gaffney Indians vs. Clinton Red Devils

The Gaffney Indians will square off against the Clinton Red Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Gaffney has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while Clinton will arrive with ten straight victories.

Things were looking good for Gaffney after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Boiling Springs, falling 11-1.

Gaffney saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Clinton never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Eau Claire 15-0. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Gaffney's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Clinton, their win bumped their record up to 17-2.

Gaffney might still be hurting after the 17-5 defeat they got from Clinton in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
