Basketball Recap: Manistique Comes Up Short

Manistique was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They took a 38-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stephenson Eagles. The Emeralds were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Manistique's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Stephenson, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

Manistique and Stephenson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Manistique will square off against Ishpeming at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday down 453 places (548 vs. 95). Meanwhile, Stephenson (ranked 331st) will meet Munising (ranked 130th) at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
