Basketball Game Preview: South Davidson Wildcats vs. Gray Stone Day Knights

The South Davidson Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Gray Stone Day Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. South Davidson is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

South Davidson is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Lexington on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. South Davidson took a blow against Lexington, falling 72-29. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-16.

Meanwhile, Gray Stone Day had to suffer through a 62-34 loss at the hands of Lee Park Prep. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while the Knights are ranked 100th).

This is the second loss in a row for Gray Stone Day and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for South Davidson, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Everything came up roses for South Davidson against Gray Stone Day in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, as the squad secured a 62-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Davidson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
