Preview: Palmetto Tigers vs. Sarasota Sailors
Palmetto is 1-9 against Sarasota since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Palmetto Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sarasota Sailors at 7:30 p.m. Palmetto will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Sarasota is ranked 29th).
On Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Palmetto beat Southeast 46-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Palmetto.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Sarasota's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Riverview Sarasota by a score of 65-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Palmetto's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Sarasota, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Things could have been worse for Palmetto, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-42 loss to Sarasota in their previous meeting back in December of 2022.
