Recap: River Ridge Royal Knights vs. Citrus Hurricanes

The River Ridge Royal Knights fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They put the hurt on Citrus with a sharp 28-6 win on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as River Ridge also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.

Leading River Ridge to victory were Deanthony Patterson and Matt Barton. Patterson rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns, while Barton rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns.

River Ridge's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Jackson Reed and his two sacks.

River Ridge's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 4-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.3 points per game. As for Citrus, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River Ridge will take on Fivay at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fivay will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Citrus, they will be playing at home against Lecanto at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
