Volleyball Recap: Heritage Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Faith Christian Academy last Saturday, Heritage Academy came back down to earth. The Heritage Academy Eagles fell just short of the Covenant Life Cougars by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2017.

Heritage Academy took Covenant Life into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-16, 25-17, 18-25, 15-9.

Payton Wood paced Heritage Academy's offense, picking up 20 kills. Wood got some help from Lilly Yurche and her 30 assists. Yurche was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Heritage Academy dropped their record down to 12-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Covenant Life, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Heritage Academy nor Covenant Life have any future games scheduled.
