Basketball Game Preview: Mackinac Island Lakers vs. Maplewood Baptist Academy Black Bears

Mackinac Island is 0-10 against Maplewood Baptist Academy since December of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Mackinac Island Lakers will venture away from home to face off against the Maplewood Baptist Academy Black Bears at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Saturday, Mackinac Island took a blow against Big Bay de Noc, falling 60-27. The Lakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Maplewood Baptist Academy might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Rudyard an easy 70-48 victory. While losing is never fun, the Black Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 475th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 216th).

Mackinac Island's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Maplewood Baptist Academy, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
