Baseball Recap: Newark Central Takes a Loss

Newark Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 13-5 to the Payne Tech Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-7 on April 7th.

Newark Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Payne Tech, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Newark Central will venture away from home to face off against Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Payne Tech, they will welcome Golda Och Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Golda Och Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.75 runs per game on average), something Payne Tech will no doubt try to take advantage of.
