Weslaco has gone 8-1 against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Panthers will face off against the Bears at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Weslaco extended their winning streak to ten on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers stepped up to hand Edinburg North a 14-0 shutout. Weslaco's victory was all the more impressive since the Cougars were averaging only 2.89 runs allowed on the season.

Meanwhile, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo entered their tilt with Economedes on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 16-0 win.

Nikki Jo Hernandez looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo got a massive performance out of Aubrey Garza, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Aztrid Reyes, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Weslaco's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo, their victory bumped their record up to 19-1.

Weslaco was able to grind out a solid win over Pharr-San Juan-Alamo when the teams last played back in March, winning 9-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
