Softball Recap: Brownwood Has No Trouble Against Stephenville

Brownwood won the last time they faced Stephenville and things went their way on Friday too. The Lions blew past the Yellow Jackets/Honeybees 10-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Lions have posted against the Yellow Jackets/Honeybees since April 23, 2021.

Kaydence Allen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chloe Walls, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hanah Campos, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Brownwood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Brownwood's record is now 14-10. As for Stephenville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-12-1.
