Basketball Recap: Three Straight Road Victories for Legacy Academy

Legacy Academy had won two straight road games and Anderson Allen did his part to make it three on Tuesday. Legacy Academy managed a 74-70 win over the Cristo Rey Royals thanks in part to Allen, who went 17 of 21 on his way to 41 points along with five rebounds and three steals. He has become a key player for Legacy Academy: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least 15 points, but 4-5 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kyrei Haywood, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Several Royals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jab Scott, who posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Haven Wilson, who had 18 points.

Legacy Academy's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 8-7. As for Cristo Rey, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Legacy Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 65-58 defeat against Veritas Collegiate Academy on the 25th. As for Cristo Rey, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-37 loss against Peninsula Catholic on the 24th.
