The First Academy had won two straight home games and Cory McPherson did his part to make it three on Friday. The Royals were the clear victors by a 75-50 margin over the Florida Prep Falcons thanks in part to McPherson, who went 7-for-9 en route to 17 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 49.1% shooting accuracy.

LJ Bacon was another key player, shooting 71% from the field on his way to 12 points. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

The First Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Florida Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The First Academy will square off against Harmony at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Royals will be up against the Longhorns' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.86 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Florida Prep, they will take on Satellite at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
