Soccer Game Preview: Mayfair vs. Norwalk

Mayfair is 1-9 against Norwalk since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Monsoons will head out to face off against the Lancers at 5:00 p.m.

Mayfair is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Dominguez on Tuesday. The Monsoons took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dons. While losing is never fun, Mayfair can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 682nd, while Dominguez are ranked 247th).

Meanwhile, Norwalk hasn't lost a match since January 2nd, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They and Bellflower finished up their matchup with a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Norwalk have been dealt a draw since back in November of 2025.

Norwalk's draw makes their record 8-5-2 this season. As for Mayfair, they now have a losing record of 8-9-1.

Mayfair suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Norwalk in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Monsoons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
