Farmington and Northwest Catholic are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The River Hawks will challenge the Lions at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Farmington came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against East Catholic, falling 10-4.

Michael Bemis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jake Tomkiewicz, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Meanwhile, Northwest Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Windsor last Monday and fell 4-2.

Northwest Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Cerreta, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Farmington's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Northwest Catholic, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Farmington came out on top in a nail-biter against Northwest Catholic in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the River Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
