 The Escambia Academy Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six  games by 30  points or more this season. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the  61-31 blowout they got  on the road  against Crenshaw Christian Academy. Given Escambia Academy's advantage  in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings  (they are ranked 162nd, while Crenshaw Christian Academy is ranked 405th), the result  on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Escambia Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Rontae Watson, who  scored 22 points. The  matchup was  Watson's tenth in a row with at least ten points.  Quinton Odom was another key contributor,  scoring 19 points.
 The  win  makes it two in a row for Escambia Academy and  bumps their season record up to 8-2. As for Crenshaw Christian Academy,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 1-9.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Escambia Academy will take on Oak Park Christian at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Crenshaw Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hooper Academy at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Hooper Academy is coming into the  match hot, having won their last eight games.
