Football Game Preview: Charleston Tigers vs. North Side Gators + How To Watch

The Charleston Tigers will take on the North Side Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

It was a proper cat-fight when Charleston duked it out with J.Z. George on Friday. The Tigers claimed a resounding 42-12 victory over the Jaguars. The Tigers' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Marcus Flowers Jr was his usual excellent self, rushing for 169 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Devon Olive, who threw for 133 yards and a pair of TDs on only six passes.

Meanwhile, North Side's rock-solid defense showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They breezed past Leland to the tune of 46-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Gators' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Cubs are ranked 210th).

North Side pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.3 points over those games. As for Charleston, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Charleston was able to grind out a solid victory over North Side in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 22-14. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Gators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
