Recap: Unalakleet Wolfpack vs. Hooper Bay Warriors
The Unalakleet Wolfpack pushed their score all the way to 74 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Hooper Bay by a score of 77-74. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (63), Unalakleet still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hooper Bay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Long, who scored 21 points. Long has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 12 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Latrell Lake, who scored 16 points.
Unalakleet dropped their record down to 6-8 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Hooper Bay, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Nenana the next time they take the court. Hooper Bay will head out to face Nenana at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Unalakleet will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
