The home team had come away the winner the last four times Central City/Centura and Twin River had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Kernels were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Titans on Thursday. The Kernels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

Luke Vakiner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run.

Central City/Centura kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Twin River only managed three hits.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elkhorn). Everything went their way against Beatrice on Saturday as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Antlers.

Beau Twohig looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Elkhorn's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 5-1 (and 7-13 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Tyrus Mack was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Camden Carle, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Central City/Centura pushed their record up to 18-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Elkhorn, their record is now 12-14.
