Basketball Recap: Timnath Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Timnath won the last time they faced Berthoud and things went their way on Thursday too. The Timnath Cubs narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Berthoud Spartans 68-65. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cubs have posted since January 7th.

Berthoud's loss came despite strong showings from Avery Pfohl and Sofia Sigg. Pfohl shot 53% from the field on her way to 30 points and eight rebounds, while Sigg went 6-for-11 to rack up 14 points along with six boards and five assists. That's the most assists Sigg has posted since back in December of 2024. Violet Hidalgo was another key player, putting up six points.

Timnath pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games. As for Berthoud, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season.
