Volleyball Recap: Pocatello Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Coeur D'alene

Pocatello faced Coeur d'Alene in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Thunder came up short against the Vikings, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Thunder have suffered since September 16th.

While Pocatello was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Coeur d'Alene's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-15, 25-16.

Abby Lusk paced Pocatello's offense, picking up 16 kills. Lusk got some help from Josie Haymore and her 24 assists.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coeur d'Alene to victory, but perhaps none more so than Embree Mckeown, who had seven digs and two aces.

Pocatello is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-11. As for Coeur d'Alene, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-2.

Pocatello wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Post Falls on the 4th. As for Coeur d'Alene, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Boise on the 4th.
