Soccer Game Preview: Southeast Raleigh vs. Smithfield-Selma + How To Watch

The Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs will take on the Smithfield-Selma Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 11 consecutive losses for Southeast Raleigh and three for Smithfield-Selma.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Southeast Raleigh's offense. They came up short against Clayton on Wednesday, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Southeast Raleigh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 415th, while Clayton are ranked 53rd).

Meanwhile, Smithfield-Selma came up short against Garner on Wednesday and fell 3-1. Both teams had to tread carefully at times as the refs weren't afraid to hand out yellow cards: Anthony Lozano was handed one for Smithfield-Selma, while Garner got theirs courtesy of Roberto Villanueva.

Smithfield-Selma's goal came courtesy of Leonel Del Valle, who's now up to two this season.

Southeast Raleigh's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13-1. As for Smithfield-Selma, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10-2.

Southeast Raleigh might still be hurting after the 6-1 defeat they got from Smithfield-Selma when the teams last played back in September. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bulldogs were down 3-0.
