Football Game Preview: Katella Knights vs. Pacifica Mariners

The Katella Knights will square off against the Pacifica Mariners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Katella has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Pacifica will arrive with three straight wins.

Katella's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Woodbridge on Thursday. They were beaten by the Warriors 35-0.

Meanwhile, Pacifica's offense rose to the challenge against a Coyotes defense that boasted an average of only 15 points allowed on Thursday. The Mariners breezed past Buena Park to the tune of 49-13. The Mariners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 36 points or more this season.

Pacifica's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Michael McGuigan with two sacks.

Katella's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Pacifica, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Katella was taken down by Pacifica 42-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Knights, Noah Lewis (who rushed for 86 yards and one TD, and also threw for 18 yards and one touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
