Norton moved up to 298 from 348 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Portage Trail - Metro. The Panthers were able to make move up by besting Newton Falls 35-6.

Springfield was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in the league. The Spartans beat North 10-0 earlier in the week.

Dustin Monaco and Marcus Cadiell gave Roosevelt a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Monaco threw for 89 yards, while Cadiell ran for 163 yards. Teammate Monaco added to the ground attack by rushing for 58 yards.

Monaco and Cadiell gave the Rough Riders a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week.

Corey Simpson was the best wideout in the league this week as Field fell to Struthers. Simpson tallied 4 receptions for 48 yards. Caleb Wohlwend helped Field's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 40 yards.

Warren Bradley provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Ravenna fell to Louisville. He completed 5 passes for 52 yards and also ran for 154 yards. Bradley's key target this week was Berry Christian, who caught 4 passes for 37 yards.

Cadiell was the most successful running back in Portage Trail - Metro this week.

Monaco put up the best numbers in passing as Roosevelt defeated Cuyahoga Falls. Monaco's favorite target this week was Corey Spicer, who caught 3 passes for 36 yards.

The leading receiver in the league this season is Maclin Coleman. The Field star has 12 catches for 169 yards.

Next week's game between Coventry and John Nemec's team will feature an aerial matchup as Jaret Skaggs tests his arm against Tanner Bontrager's defensive ability. So far this year the Comets' Skaggs has 354 yards and 2 touchdowns to his credit, while Bontrager has notched 1 interceptions for the Rough Riders.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Coventry takes on Roosevelt. At the moment, Ed Egan's team is in fifth, while the Rough Riders are in first.

The league will see a high scoring game when the Comets and Roosevelt face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Coventry comes in having scored 47 this season, while the Rough Riders have scored 56. The Comets scored 21 points last week as they fell to Mogadore.
