Baseball Recap: Hammond Takes a Loss

Hammond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the South Terrebonne Gators. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tornadoes of the 7-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

Hammond's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for South Terrebonne, they moved to 2-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Hammond will host Fontainebleau at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Tornadoes' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for South Terrebonne, they will head out to square off against Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
