Football Recap: Central Bulldogs vs. Republic Tigers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Central can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 60-7 loss at the hands of the Republic Tigers. The loss leaves the Bulldogs without a win on the season.
Matthew Pelfrey had an outrageously good game for Republic as he rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. The dominant performance gave Pelfrey a new career-high in rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of James Richmond, who rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Republic, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Republic, they will square off against Hillcrest on Friday. Republic is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
