Baseball Recap: Tippecanoe Valley Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Tippecanoe Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past the La Lumiere Lakers 13-3 on Tuesday. The Vikings not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 2, 2024 (when they won 12-1).

Tristyn Ragon looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Weston Brown, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Hunter Paxton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Tippecanoe Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as La Lumiere only posted an OBP of .280.

Tippecanoe Valley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for La Lumiere, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Tippecanoe Valley will be playing at home against Morgan Township at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings are facing the Cherokees at the right time seeing as the Cherokees are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for La Lumiere, they will challenge Marquette Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blazers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.6 runs per game on average), something the Lakers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
