Basketball Recap: American Heritage Academy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

American Heritage Academy came into Thursday's matchup having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Verde Valley Coyotes by a score of 17-8 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for American Heritage Academy: when they faced off against Verde Valley back in December of 2024, they had to take a 28-23 loss.

American Heritage Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Verde Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

American Heritage Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Orme at 5:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Verde Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-7 defeat against Trinity Christian on the 17th.
