Basketball Preview: Shipley vs. Pennington Red Raiders
Shipley will head out on the road to square off against the Pennington Red Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Shipley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 246 points over their last four games.
Shipley pushed their score all the way to 57 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 75-57 bruising from Abington Friends.
Will Littles, Jr put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Matt Lange was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Pennington can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Saturday. Everything went their way against Division as Pennington made off with a 66-42 win.
Shipley has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Pennington, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
Shipley beat the Red Raiders 56-49 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shipley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
