Basketball Recap: Candlelight Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Candlelight Christian Academy played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Families Instructing Students HomeSchool Hawks, falling 33-13. The Flames were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 23-3.

Skyler Taylor was Candlelight Christian Academy's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Taylor also led the team in assists with two.

Families Instructing Students HomeSchool got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Julianna Lamon out in front who went 6 for 9 en route to 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Lamon is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Melody Lee, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 13 points and eight boards.

Candlelight Christian Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Candlelight Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 40-17 loss against Florida College Academy on the 1st.
