Football Recap: Brayden Santos Leads Osceola's Defense on Friday

It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Osceola ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They managed a 36-30 victory over the Riverside Chargers. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 44-0 win the Chargers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Brycen Kula produced another solid performance rushing for 114 yards and four touchdowns, while also picking up 30 receiving yards. Jackson Winslow helped out on the ground, rushing for 125 yards and a rushing touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Osceola was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 305 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 200 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Osceola didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Brayden Santos led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.

Osceola now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Riverside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Osceola will square off against Archangels Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Defenders have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Riverside, they will challenge Howells-Dodge at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars' defense has only allowed 10.5 points per game this season, so the Chargers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
