Perry County Central dropped their record down to 8-13 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Hazard Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs, falling 8-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Commodores of the 16-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Perry County Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Elkins, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Tate Watts was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

As for Hazard, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

On Hazard's side, the team relied heavily on Tucker Napier, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Those three hits gave Napier a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Akemon, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perry County Central will head out to take on Spencer County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Commodores' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hazard, they will challenge Johnson Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
