Preview: Alpena Leopards vs. Lead Hill Tigers

Alpena and Lead Hill are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Alpena Leopards will be home for the holidays to greet the Lead Hill Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Alpena humbled Deer with a 75-38 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Alpena.

Meanwhile, Lead Hill had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They breezed by Mountain Home Christian Academy at home to the tune of 59-16. With Lead Hill ahead 42-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Nolan Turner was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 12 points along with four steals. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Kaden Baker, who scored seven points.

Alpena's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10. As for Lead Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 7-15.

Things could have been worse for Alpena, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-39 loss to Lead Hill in their previous matchup back in February. Can Alpena avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
