Baseball Preview: Suwannee Bulldogs vs. Newberry Panthers
The Suwannee Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Newberry Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Suwannee's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Newberry's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Suwannee will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Chiles, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. Everything went Suwannee's way against Chiles on Tuesday as Suwannee made off with a 7-1 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

W. Grayson Bonds was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI and two doubles. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Watson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Newberry waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 9-6. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly three runs.
Newberry got a massive performance out of Tristan Woodrome, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Trey Priester also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Newberry pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Suwannee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.
Suwannee skirted past Newberry 1-0 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Suwannee since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
