Baseball Recap: Cedar Ridge Gets the Win

The third road contest was the charm for Cedar Ridge, as they earned their first road win of the season. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Veterans Memorial Patriots 8-6. The Raiders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Bryson Batton looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, Hudson Hartgrove was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Matthew Fletcher also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Cedar Ridge now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Veterans Memorial, their defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Cedar Ridge has already played their next matchup, a 10-2 loss against Victoria East on the 1st. As for Veterans Memorial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Marshall on the 1st.
