Softball Recap: Clovis West Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Clovis West never let their opponents score on Saturday. They blew past the Encinal Jets 10-0. Considering the Golden Eagles have won three matches by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Clair Canales, who gave up just three hits to keep Encinal off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alexis Busch, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Johnson, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Busch wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Clovis West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Clovis West pushed their record up to 6-1-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Encinal, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clovis West will welcome Salinas at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Encinal, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Berkeley at 4:00 p.m.
