Basketball Game Preview: Landstown Eagles vs. Green Run Stallions

The Landstown Eagles will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Green Run Stallions at 5:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Landstown sitting on four straight wins and Green Run on six.

Two weeks ago, everything came up roses for Landstown against Denbigh as the team secured a 63-35 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 24 points or more this season.

Landstown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Damien Robinson led the charge by going 6 of 11 on his way to 21 points and five steals. The contest was Robinson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rashad Shaw, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Green Run hadn't done well against Hampton recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Green Run came out on top against Hampton by a score of 55-46.

Green Run's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Landstown, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

Landstown came out on top in a nail-biter against Green Run when the teams last played back in January of 2024, sneaking past 53-51. Will Landstown repeat their success, or does Green Run have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
