Flag Football Recap: Monday's Win Is Del Norte's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Poway, Del Norte was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 25-0 margin over the Rancho Bernardo Broncos. The Nighthawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Del Norte found their leader in freshman Katelyn Maley, who threw for 294 yards and four touchdowns.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Del Norte's defense and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Melia Naigan and Eliana Reynoso, who racked up all five sacks between them.

Del Norte has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.5 points on average over those games. As for Rancho Bernardo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.

Del Norte will take on Santa Fe Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rancho Bernardo, they will square off against San Dieguito Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
