Baseball Recap: Westlake Comes Up Short

Westlake and Farmington squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Westlake had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Phoenix by a score of 4-3. The Thunder just can't catch a break and have now endured 13 losses in a row.

Andrew Clawson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only five hits, the fewest he's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, Kade Daniels made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Westlake's defeat dropped their record down to 5-21. As for Farmington, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-20.

While Westlake had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
