Preview: Lone Tree vs. H-L-V

The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Lone Tree (8-2) takes on H-L-V (8-2) in the first playoff game of the year. Lone Tree has been tearing up the end zone with big points in its last eight contests.

Lone Tree can now show off six landslide victories after its game two weeks ago. It crushed Iowa Valley two weeks ago, winning 77 - 30.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's just how it played out between H-L-V and Melcher-Dallas. H-L-V picked up a decisive 'W' against Melcher-Dallas two weeks ago, finishing up at 65 - 20. The game was pretty much decided by the half: the score was 44 - 6 going into the third quarter.

The last time they met, Lone Tree really took it to H-L-V, winning 55 - 8. This time, their match is expected to be much closer since they have similar state rankings (Lone Tree at 15th, H-L-V at 16th). Will Lone Tree come out on top again? We'll soon find out.
