Merritt Island had already won 15 in a row and they went ahead and made it 16 on Wednesday. They blew past the Viera Hawks 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Merritt Island not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Viera between 15 and 18 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-18, 25-18.

Peyton Riordan paced Merritt Island's offense, picking up 16 kills. Riordan got some help from Amber Ives and her 17 assists. Annabelle Jones controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Viera's loss came despite strong showings from Allie Brown and Ella Brand. Brown had 13 assists and eight digs, while Brand had 24 digs and two aces. Brand is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Merritt Island's victory bumped their record up to 22-2. As for Viera, they dropped their record down to 6-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Merritt Island will welcome Mount Dora at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Viera, they will be taking part in a tournament against Legacy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
