Soccer Game Preview: Hancock vs. Long Beach

The Hancock Hawks will challenge the Long Beach Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hancock is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to seven goals on Thursday, they were much more limited against D'Iberville on Friday. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 3-1 defeat to the Warriors.

Hancock's goal came courtesy of Tristan Bly, who's now up to seven this season.

Meanwhile, Long Beach kept a clean sheet against Poplarville on Friday. They came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 2-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Bearcats were the better team in the second half.

Long Beach's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-8-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four contests. As for Hancock, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8-1 record this season.
