Meanwhile, Manzano was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 60-50 to Capital.

La Cueva's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-8. As for Manzano, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

La Cueva strolled past Manzano in their previous matchup back in January of 2019 by a score of 66-51. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Manzano's Dakota Powell, who went 6 for 14 en route to 13 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
