Basketball Recap: Menendez Piles Up the Points Against Atlantic

Menendez posted their biggest win since December 18, 2024 on Tuesday. They blew past the Atlantic Sharks 49-20. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Sharks are ranked 397th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Menendez to victory were Sophia Scibelli and Lucia Warner. Scibelli posted 26 points in addition to five assists and five steals, while Warner had seven points along with seven assists and six steals. Those seven assists gave Warner a new career-high.

Menendez's record now sits at 10-7. As for Atlantic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Menendez will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Augustine at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Atlantic, they will venture away from home to take on Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
